Honors Western Civilization

Today in class, we shared our Ancient Greek projects. Ellie's group brought in food. We had sparkling cider, bread, and honey cake. It was very delicious. Their video of their cooking show was also very entertaining. I enjoyed the bloopers and personal opinions they described in it. We also learned about different aspects of war. This included: the trireme, the trident, and the phalanx. Those groups brought in models of their projects to put on display. While groups presented, we graded them on accuracy, engagement, and other aspects of presentation. I enjoyed this project because watching the videos and powerpoint people made were quite entertaining. I hope we do another project like this again.

Jillian Kurzmann 5/17/18 Honors Western Civilization Today in class, we took notes on a powerpoint. Charlemagne Unites Germanic Kingdoms Main Idea: Many Germanic Kingdoms that succeeded the Roman Empire were reunited under Charlemagne's empire. Why it matters now: Charlemagne spread Christian civilization throughout Northern Europe, which is where some (not all of) us came from. Setting the Stage Middle Ages=Medieval period.
